INSTRUCTOR TRAINING

It is possible to go on College and Industry based courses where
you pay thousands of pounds to gain experience and qualifications in outdoor
pursuits. Alternatively, you can gain this experience and qualification as part
of our work force...and still get paid. Not a difficult choice!
The drawback
with many intensive college courses is that you do not have the chance to gain
the “hands on” experience that is needed to consolidate the training and convert
it into an actual qualification. The drawback with industry based courses, where
you can pay large amounts for your training is obviously a financial one: you
may find yourself “paying to work” too! We often hear that Industry based
courses do not have the flexibility to give participants insight into the day to
day planning, organisational and legal aspects that are involved in the industry
and that they can be very repetitive.
We have the solutions to all these problems
As a flexible organisation, dedicated to the development of highly qualified and competent staff, 4thDimension will give the enthusiastic and dedicated aspirant chances to gain training/assessment in MLTB, SPA, BCU, First Aid, BOF and Local Education Authority awards. Trainees will have the opportunity to work and train at several locations in the UK.
Additionally, trainees will be able to gain huge insight into the way an organisation is run, developing the skills and insights necessary to become a fully qualified and valuable practitioner. For example, one of our 1996 trainees progressed to the post of Senior Instructor in 1998 and will have the additional responsibility for “Staff Development” in 2001.Other trainees have gone on to work as full time centre instructors or freelance instructors. Others have come back as instructors for 4th Dimension and one went on to work for an international Bungy Company.
You will find yourself part of a small, active and caring organisation where the emphasis is away from typical “production line” provision and which focuses on quality provision and quality staffing.
